Repair Facility - Coteau-du-Lac, QC

Certified Welder & Railcar Mechanic

Currently we are seeking a welder to join the team at our Maintenance & Repair facility in Coteau-du-Lac Québec, performing inspections and mechanical repairs to all type of railcars.

Position: Certified Welder & Railcar Mechanic

Employment Status: Permanent, Fulltime

Schedule: Weekdays 6:30 – 15:00, overtime and weekends as required.

Start Date: Immediately


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment including (but not limited to) pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, cranes.
  • Develop knowledge of railcar maintenance standards and rules, while interpreting industry terminology for application to mechanical repairs of railcars.
  • Maintain a clean organized workstation and assist with general shop upkeep.
  • Organize time and priorities to meet production efficiency standards.
  • Adhere to and promote safety practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Certified welder.
  • Previous railway experience a plus.
  • A moderate comfort level with computers and role associated technology.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require full body mobility, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and standing for an extended period.
  • Possibility of working in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft off the ground with proper PPE and fall protection (following training and certification).
  • Occasionally work outdoors in adverse conditions.

CNC Operator

Currently we are seeking a CNC Operator to join the team at our Wheelshop in Hamilton Ontario, performing the operation of CNC equipment.

Position: CNC Operator

Employment Status: Permanent, Fulltime

Key Job Responsibilities:/p>

  • Review work orders and interpret drawings to determine machining operations.
  • Setup and operate machine tools to perform repetitive operations such as boring, milling, drilling.
  • Load and position materials onto machinery and staging areas.
  • Monitor process to ensure quality standards.
  • Verify the dimensions of machined materials using precision measuring instruments.
  • Organize time and priorities to meet production efficiency standards.
  • Coordinate with other CNC Operators, Managers and shop floor processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report issues.
  • Maintain a clean organized workstation and assist with general shop upkeep.

Education and Experience:

  • CNC training or certification.
  • 1-2 years experience safely acting as a CNC Operator.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate a counterbalanced forklift and other industrial lift trucks.
  • Load, unload and move materials from different types of equipment such as flatbed trailers, box trailers, containers, box rail cars and center beam rail cars.
  • Communicate with inbound truck drivers, obtaining paperwork and verifying material quantities.
  • Communicate with outbound truck drivers, verifying bills of lading to carriers and signing paperwork on departure.
  • Assist and coordinate with machine operators and other shop floor processes.
  • Sort, crate and stack materials.
  • Consolidate empty pallets and shipping containers.
  • Adhere to and promote safety protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 years experience safely operating a counterbalanced forklift.
  • Counterbalanced forklift training.
  • Forklift Operator certification.
  • Propane certification a plus.
  • A moderate comfort level with computers and role associated technology.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
